Pankhurst Begins US Lecture Tour Admitted on Own Recognizance
Washington reports that Mrs Emmeline Pankhurst is released from detention at Ellis Island and permitted to enter the United States on her own recognizance for the duration of her lecture engagements. Fatally Crushed At Mandan
Domenico Muro was killed in Mandan North Dakota as he crawled under cars in the Northern Pacific yards with flour on his back. An engine crushed his right leg and head injuries led to his death about an hour later. He leaves a wife and seven children. The Northern Briquetting Co of Minot plans a large plant opening mid November and Kenmare reports a new white way.

Methodists Plan State Educational Program in North Dakota
The Methodist Episcopal conference at Lisbon outlined a statewide educational plan for North Dakota. A general commission would raise 500000 dollars for Wesley College needs and a new college at Bismarck, with a long term goal of one million for all church education. Bishop Naphtali Luccock and Dr. Thomas Nicholson lead, aiming to start statewide drives in Grand Forks and Bismarck and to complete the 500000 by 1916, the 150th anniversary of American Methodism.

Gas Explosion Kills Youth Near Casselton Farm
Casselton North Carolina October 22 Martin Torgeson about 20 was killed on the John Dalrymple farm east of Casselton while thawing pipes. He tried to burn cotton waste soaked with oil and gasoline then spilled fuel to a burning pile causing a massive explosion that destroyed the gasoline tank. The engineer warned but it was too late.

Lemmon South Dakota Frederick Lemmon, president of the First State Bank since the city’s birth, sold all stock to J C Kinney of Wibaux Montana and ceases to be identified with the bank. Elopement and arrest in Glen Allin affair near Mandan
After a five month search Christian Heinle and Mrs. John Weikum were found in Dundee NL and Heinle was arrested on adultery charges. Sheriff McDonald planned return with Heinle, while the woman faces potential divorce. The case left Heinle’s wife destitute and four children cared for by Friends and county funds.

Cattle Thief Shot in Arm Near Dickinson ND
Michael Chernishaw, 28, arrested for stealing sixty beef cattle and several calves from John Peters in Bowman County. He admitted driving livestock eighty miles to a vacant pasture, slaughtering fifteen head, and selling meat in Dickinson and Belfield. Officers Brown and Barrett shot him in the arm as he attempted to flee. he had just been released after a year in prison for horse stealing and had lived in the country five years, having come from Russia.

Railroads Set Two Cent Passenger Rate To North Dakota
Minnesota railroads will implement on November 1 a two cent passenger rate on interstate traffic to North Dakota equal to the interstate rate in Minnesota. A final readjustment has been filed with the Interstate Commerce Commission. Additional adjustments for other states will follow as soon as possible, say Northern Pacific Great Northern and Minneapolis Saint Paul and Sault Ste Marie officials.
