Land dispute returns property and rents to plaintiff
In Dickinson this week Judge Nicholas presided over the Golden Valley Land and Cattle Co. vs John B. Johnstone. The plaintiff won, reclaiming the land and $3,000 for rental. Johnstone had bought the land years earlier at 12.50 per acre, let the contract lapse, and the sale was cancelled by law. The case featured T F Murtha for the plaintiff with Divit of Purcell and Divit of Wahpeton. Heffron and Baird aided for the defense. Also noted is the marriage of Edward Gilbert to Lillian A Currier in Sentinel Butte with Rev W C Bennett performing. Gilbert is an insurance agent there.

A Buffalo Pitts three wheel gas tractor with a single front wheel, three upright cylinders, and 30 horsepower is unloaded at Beach by Lovell Bros and sold to Feldmen Bros northwest of town for 2800 dollars. The Golden Valley notes over half a hundred gasoline traction engines sold this season, with Lovell Bros reporting fifteen Hart Parr engines sold this year.

Cadillac Introduces Big Endurance Feat
Messrs Len and Roy Heath Cadillac agents with Dickinson residents and Commissioner Stoddard visited last Thursday. They drove a Cadillac through rough terrain at twenty miles an hour to assess roads for the endurance tour from Dickinson to Glendive. The trip plans include a noon start from Devils Lake and a Mandan Glendive leg, aiming to complete the circuit in thirty hours without stopping the engine.
