A medical prospectus for Dr. Charest lists visits at Beach on July 16 and Fargo Office at 1123 Fifth Ave. South Sundays, with claims of cure for numerous conditions using X-Ray Radium Vibrators and other methods. The notice touts experience, wide range of treatments, and claims to cure diseases without surgery.
In Medora on Tuesday a pickpocketing spree netted about $40 while a hotel theft earlier in the week totaled around $60. Elizabeth Belknap of Stillwater filed for letters of administration in her husband George Belknap’s estate. A gang from the Minneapolis Bridge and Iron Co. works on three local bridges. Four hoboes were caught with salmon at Ferris’ store. two jailed, one fined, one dismissed. Zip Bang sold for $2,000. The Farmers Institute drew strong attendance with North Dakota and state speakers. E. E. Jordans trotter injury occurred when a cart hit a pole, minor but painful.

J C Kinney purchased a fine new 4 cylinder 18 horsepower runabout this week from H C Jenson of Beach who holds the local agency. Miss Gertrude Doyle resigned as assistant post mistress last Saturday and now works as book-keeper for Jordan Pickering Co. S M Wills returned from Fargo after shipping his race horses weeks ago and planned to attend.
Jackson county residents and families travel to Beach North Dakota with reports of prosperous crops and rising land values. A Northfield farmer Nels Heggen visits, noting 200 acre farms and moisture favorable conditions. Mrs. Ed Holven of Beach sends cheerful letters about the Golden Valley and a shortage of domestic help among colonists.
Samples of new soft drinks received from state dealers were tested by Prof. E F Ladd state pure food commissioner and found to be fakes. They misrepresent composition and contain harmful chemicals. If not withdrawn from the market sellers face prosecutions under state pure foods laws.
The regular annual meeting of Farmers Elevator Company stockholders will be held on the second Tuesday in July. Officers will be elected for the coming year and a report of the year’s business will be presented. all stockholders are urged to attend.
