Two Large Building Contracts Set in Beach

Bids opened on Monday for a new high school addition and the Chronicle block. Leeby of Fargo secured the school contract at 13 280 dollars, with plans for early work, and Leeby also favored for the Chronicle block after minor plan changes, with lower bids from Gagnon and Clark.

Two June Weddings Privately Tied at St John’s Church

Two June weddings were solemnized Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 at St John’s Episcopal Church in Dickinson. Mr. L. E. Austin of the city and Miss Anna Knowlton of St. James Minnesota were united in matrimony by Rev. J. S. Brayfield the rector. The ceremony was strictly private with only the witnesses present.

Better Farming Special to Visit Beach Next Friday

The Better Farming Special touring train will be in Beach on the evening of June 17 from 7 to 10. The six cars showcase machinery, horticulture, live stock, agronomy, poultry and dairying, and home economics led by Professors Bolley Richards and Dynes with local directors Randlett and Donoghue.

Beach Postoffice Increased $300

The annual postmasters salary adjustments show Beach with a $300 gain, ranking among the largest increases in the state. Beach equals McClusky at $1,800 and $1,400 respectively, with Mott at $400 due to railroad and office activity. Seven presidential offices in the state fall this year, and Beach may rise further next year due to legitimate growth.

Terry Proved Easy for Beach in Sunday Clash

The Terry team traveled to face Beach on Sunday. Montana visitors were outmatched as Beach players dominated with superior ball handling and execution, finishing the game with an easy victory.

Pitcher Burdett Shines For Wibaux In Tight Terry Game

Burdett, the Miles City twirler with Wibaux, pitched well for Terry fighting hard against Tower. He struck out nine and allowed six hits with one walk, while Tower limited the visitors to four hits and eight strikeouts. Two Terry runs came in the sixth on an Armentrout error. Doyle’s nose injury delayed play but he returned to the field. Umpires Horth and Hewitt officiated. the contest was clean and spirited.

Land deal seals $62.50 per acre for a tract adjoining the fair ground east of the town. F E Near buys from Wm Odenbaugh who homesteaded the parcel years ago for a profitable return. Near plans a street extension to the fair ground as the property rises in value with each month.

Fair Dates Set July 20 to 23

A meeting of stockholders and interested parties at Golden West Investment Co reviewed plans for the Interstate Fair. Secretary Arnold will collect unpaid stock, hire Beach Band for three days, and directors may form sub committees to arrange a strong program open to all supporters.
