Telephone Co Modernizes Plant In Golden Valley Upgrade
Patrons of the Golden Valley Telephone Company in this city will soon use one of the state's most modern exchanges. A. G. Babmer of Bisstravick, North Dakota Independent Co., leads extensive cable splicing and plant modernization. The project reconfigures a 506 wire main feeder and three additional cables, introduces insulated splices with moisture barriers, and uses lead sleeves and paraffin sealing. New boards will handle city and farm toll calls separately, with a 800-pair rack expandable as needed and a selective harmonic ringer system being phased in.

Bound Over To District Court In Assault Case
E C Stark of Ollie Montana was bound over after a preliminary hearing before Justice Doug lass Carlyle on a charge of assault with attempt to kill. Stark allegedly fired a 30 30 Savage rifle at J K Tatley January 7 injuring him slightly and passing a bullet through the home. Tatley, a Ollie school board member, had complained Stark kept his children from school. The hearing was at Carlyle and Stark was bound over to Miles City district court which convenes in February. Power Brothers Buy Power & Wagner Stock, Open Store
Power Brothers take over the stock and business of Power & Wagner from the St. Paul Credit Bureau, settle all creditors, and form Power Clothing Co. A Northern Pacific surveying crew of 18 men arrived in Beach and registered at the Callender hotel. They plan to survey a line out of the city with rumors pointing southwest toward Baker to connect with the Mott extension. Local farmers consider this a move to counter efforts for a Beaver-Ollie Wikaux line. The presence of the surveyors will be watched closely.

Babe Burned To Death In Midwest Home Accident
A twenty month old child died after clothing caught fire from a hot stove while a mother stepped away to call dinner. The accident near the Boyer home nine miles southeast of town occurred Monday at noon as the child reached under the stove while chasing a cat. Lee Goey Case Dismissed In Prohibition Hearing
Lee Goey, owner of City Restaurant, was charged with maintaining a blind pig after a hearing before Judge Rosenberg. One witness left, another contradicted himself, and no corroborating evidence emerged. The judge dismissed the case citing unreliable testimony and lack of proof.
