Sheep Herder Dies After Suspected Self Inflicted Wound
A sixteen year old employed by Wakefield Bros on their Trotters ranch near Wibaux was found dying in a sheep wagon last Saturday evening. He reportedly said he shot himself with a Colt’s special 82 caliber. He died before aid arrived. two wounds were found, chest and left leg, with near heart penetration. The body was moved to Wibaux for burial after relatives arrived from New Salem North Dakota.
