Washington January 4 Senator P J McCumber of North Dakota declared firm opposition to any tariff cut on grain while supporting free lumber. He introduced a bill granting North Dakota the Lewis and Clark expedition ground near Bismarck for a memorial park to honor the 1805 winter encampment.

Sheep Herder Dies After Suspected Self Inflicted Wound
A sixteen year old employed by Wakefield Bros on their Trotters ranch near Wibaux was found dying in a sheep wagon last Saturday evening. He reportedly said he shot himself with a Colt’s special 82 caliber. He died before aid arrived. two wounds were found, chest and left leg, with near heart penetration. The body was moved to Wibaux for burial after relatives arrived from New Salem North Dakota.

Green River Precinct Election Contest In Dickinson Post
A district court case filed December 2 1908 in Dickinson questions fraud at Green River precinct Billings county in the last general election seeking to throw out its votes.
