Dickinson ND Dec 3 E L Hill charged with first degree murder arraigned in district court here today. Hill, a prisoner in Stark county jail, will contest conviction by arguing Gordon killed himself. Dr R W Furman, who examined Gordon’s body, testifies that powder burns on face and left hand support the suicide theory and that the bullet entered the skull from below. Fessenden North Dakota December 4. O S Hovey member of the Wells County board of commissioners has developed a new wheat variety. A virile stalk observed seven years ago led to preservation through hail, livestock and weather damage. The plant features a club head stiff straw reddish brown grain plumb and large with fine color. Yields at least 50 percent higher than other varieties under similar conditions. He produced 21 bushels per acre last season and sent samples to Fargo model mill for tests. If milling is satisfactory he plans to seed a large acreage.
