About 30 Dickinson members attended, assembling after the noon No. 3 train and enjoying Foster's orchestra. The Western Union downtown office opens in the Golden Valley State Bank building with G H Eddinger in charge. One operator will serve eight to eight with hour breaks. after hours messages will be delivered at the depot. Time clocks cost $1 monthly and synchronize from Washington. Richardton Man Killed in Suspected Murder Over Debts
Richardton North Dakota Nov 22. A wealthy farmer C C Gordon was shot and killed in attorney B M Riegler's office after a private meeting with E F Hill. Hill and his wife were present. Hill is in custody as investigators pursue whether Hill murdered Gordon over a money settlement linked to family troubles. Gordon leaves a widow and daughters amid community turmoil.

Firemen's Ball a Big Success at Opera House
The first annual Firemen's ball at the opera house last night drew about 150 couples with 200 tickets sold. Foster's seven piece orchestra played as firemen acted as hosts, while a Thanksgiving themed supper at the State Line hotel complemented the celebration. A $100 check from Northern Pacific Railway for aiding the coal dock was gratefully received. The Minot Elks plan a cabaret extravaganza in December and Larimore dedicated a new Methodist church on Sunday.

Farmer Loses Large Barn Fire Blamed on Lantern
A. J. Bier lost a large barn to fire this morning at five o'clock caused by a lantern. He was at the barn when the lantern globe broke and he left for a replacement, returning to find the interior ablaze from burning wick particles in the straw. The property loss is heavy but insured, lightening the financial impact.
