Lone Woman Driver Circles Australia
Ruth Gunn of west Maitland New South Wales completed a solo car round Australia in a Ford V-8 coupe with only her sheep dog Paddy as company. The nine week, 9 000 mile journey covered rough roads from Queensland to Western Australia via Derby Broome Kalgoorlie Perth and back through Victoria to New South Wales.
