Gloucester Pastures Protection Board report details 1937 conditions

The Stock Inspector A H Moore reports on district conditions since August 5th. Fourty four holdings with about 1700 cattle and 762 pigs were inspected. Rainfall varied from eight days and 273 points in August to 68 points in September, with better results in October. Pastures improved with clover and paspalum, sown pastures praised, reliance on mineral nutrients noted. Stock movements remain brisk since the 1936 drought break, with busy sale yards at Gloucester, Wingham, Krambach, Taree, and Stroud, prices strong across fats and stores. The reserve improvement fund remains buoyant.
