Anniversary Service Marks 50th Year in Hilton United Church
Hilton Manitoba hosted over 100 people for a June 8 1986 anniversary service celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the first woman ordained in the United Church of Canada. Rev Wendy Rankin led the service joined by former ministers Rev Dori Archibald and Rev Freda Rajotte. The event also dedicated the church cornerstone from the 1952 building.

Canada Day 1986 at Holland marked the 119th birthday with a 3 00 p m flag raising cake cutting a 4 00 p m children's concert by Brian Ramsey and Chuck McCandress a barbecue supper family games and mural painting. Nordics Hold Wind-up and Awards Night
The Glenboro Nordics Hockey Club held a Saturday wind-up and steak night in Glenboro with a Mixed Bestball Foursome event open to players wives executives and fans. Prizes honored top scores long drives closest to water and other feats while hockey season awards included Most Dedicated Most Improved and Most Sportsmanlike with MVP going to Dean Fuller and tokens of appreciation to coaches managers and the secretary.
