Commissioners Call For Special Election In Glen Rose
Somervell County Commissioners Court met in a called session to study a petition urging an election to authorize time warrants for a new Glen Rose Fire Department fire truck. Petition signed by 95 property owners, election set for Nov 3 General Election Day. County Judge Temple Summers said $20,000 in warrants will be issued and debt can be retired without tax-rate increase. Election notice on page seven.

Linda Firestone Undergoes Tonsilectomy at Memorial Hospital
Miss Linda Firestone admitted to Memorial Hospital in Cleburne Monday afternoon and underwent a tonsilectomy Tuesday. She is reported to be doing fine. Mrs. Herman Burmiester of Temple visited last week with her sisters Mrs. H. C. Polley and Mrs. Dan Whitt. Mr. Burmiester visited here Sunday and returned his wife home.

Recreation Committee Abandons Lake Project
About 25 citizens attended a public meeting at the Palace Theatre as Earl Jackson of the Chamber of Commerce reported only 31 people committed $100 memberships for a family recreation development. Glen Rose High School 1909 seniors, first graduating class, recall building a two-story rock school that stood where the present elementary sits.
