Joseph E Buzan 71 longtime cattle dealer and meat market operator in Glen Rose died Friday night. Born February 25 1890 he is survived by wife Myrtle Knight and children Harold J Buzan W B Dan Buzan Jack Buzan and Mrs Harry Bell seven grandchildren and four sisters. Funeral services Sunday at 2 pm at Glen Rose Funeral Home Chapel with Rev John Basham officiating. Burial in Glen Rose Cemetery.
Mr and Mrs H G Collins celebrate twin hereford heifers born this week on their Glen Rose area farm. The calves are identical in size and markings and share the same birthday eve as Mrs Collins.

David Gene Simpson, born September 18 1961, arrived Wednesday to live with his adoptive parents Barbara and Gene Simpson. He measured 21.5 inches and weighed 7 pounds 8.5 ounces at birth. Grandparents are Mr and Mrs Earle Jackson and Mr and Mrs R F Simpson of Hico.
A man cheers himself up with a story about a 35 pound raccoon and 44 inch robe length before a Denver to Love Field flight. He notes plans to return in November to share another old boss coon tale after a mountain snowstorm in Colorado. He had visited his daughter in Denver when the mountain snow forced a detour.

Two residents at the Jameson Nurs-O-Tel marked wedding anniversaries on Tuesday afternoon September 19. Mr and Mrs J C Summers observed 49 years of marriage while Mr and Mrs Patrick Gallagher celebrated 64 years.
Mrs Bill Lemens spent the weekend in Weatherford visiting her daughter Mrs Elis Benham and family.
Mrs. Ella Mullins 81 died Monday in Glen Rose after nearly two years in Jameson Nurs-O-Tel. Born October 24, 1880 in Colorado, she moved to Somervell County at age three. She married R B Mullen in 1902, who preceded her. Survived by two sons, six daughters, five sisters, sixteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral at Glen Rose Methodist Church with burial in White Church Cemetery.
Mrs. W. D. Brown reports her mother is improving after a surgery performed last week at Cleburne Hospital.
The Glen Rose Tigers, missing quarterback Johnny Martin and with injuries to Bobby Simmons and Weldon Crisp, host Joshua tonight in the fourth game of the season. Standout linemen Alfred West and Russell Hawkins anchor the line as the Tigers aim for their first win at 8 p.m.
The Community School Organization met Monday night in the High School Auditorium. President Mrs Wynell Whitt led the session with minutes by Diane Gibson. The treasurer reported, and $150 was approved to support the Ag building on Highway 67. FFA and FHA members presented a program with nominees for Sweetheart and Heart Throb titles.
The survivor list includes Charlie Monroe Reynolds, 46, of Cleburne, father of Mrs. Floyd Flanary of Granbury, killed last Tuesday evening in the fatal wreck that claimed three lives.

The CES will sponsor a showing of the movie Friendly Persuasion at the Palace Theater in Glen Rose on Monday night September 25 at 7 30. Tickets are being sold by Eastern Star members with prices 25 cents for children and 50 cents for adults.
