Glen Rose FFA Chapter teams dominated the Hico Land and Range Judging Contests sponsored by the Bosque Soil and Water Conservation District. Competing schools included Glen Rose, Stephenville, Iredell, Meridian, Valley Mills, and Crawford. The Glen Rose Junior Land Judging team of Danny Chambers Gary Dunkerson Terry Shackelford Bobby Parnell and Steve Darity took first, as did the Senior Land Judging team Cliff Montgomery Tom Lopez James Teague and Terry Wilson. Rainbow Baptist Church plans organize a Longhorn Council Boy Scout Troop in Glen Rose and Somervell County. An organizational meeting at the church is set for Tuesday at 7 30 p m inviting all boys aged 11 to 14 and their parents. Ed Hornick named Scoutmaster with help from Landingham Hardie Mouser Douglas and Lane Hardcastle as assistants. Troop will meet weekly at the church education building until a Scout Hut is renovated with 7 30 p m meetings.

Tiger cindermen place in two meets with multiple records
Tiger trackmen placed fifth at Ste Phinville invitational as Tommy Thompson set two division records in 120 high hurdles and 330 intermediate hurdles. In Ranger meet Thompson won both 120 highs and 330 intermediates, and Tiger relays posted season bests. License Plates Deadline Nears in Texas
Motorists are reminded that midnight April 1 is the Texas vehicle registration deadline. After that time officers will stop drivers not displaying 1975 plates.
