The Glen Rose-Somervell County Chamber of Commerce held its annual Achievement Awards Banquet at Glen Lake Methodist Camp with 162 attendees. H. C. Polley, longtime county servant and leading peanut producer, won Farmer of the Year after a program featuring Irvin Farman and emcees Mack McConal and Dr. Roger Marks.

Sam Wylie, born July 25, 1891 in Delta County Texas, died March 7, 1962 in the local hospital.
