Rainy Somerell Quarter Horse Show Finds Success Indoors
Despite a steady drizzle the Somerell County Quarter Horse Show and Jr. Livestock Show drew entries from Texas and nearby states. Calhoun of Cresson judged the event. King Solomon and Strummer were named Grand Champion Stallion and Mare. Junior Livestock awards covered beef, dairy, sheep, swine, goats, and horses with numerous 4 H and individual winners. Grand Champion Steer sold for 27.50 per 100 lb to the First National Bank. other top cattle and stocker calves sold for amounts ranging to 80. Warren Marks, Bobby Simmons, and others won Jr. Poultry honors. Women’s club cake and pie winners were announced with multiple prize recipients.

Car Crash Wrecks Near Paluxy Bridge injuring Chester Thompson

Six youths fined in theft case in County Court
Six youths pleaded guilty to theft over five dollars and under fifty and received a $1 fine plus $30 in court costs in County Court. The youths were ordered to pay the total amount.
