New Baptist Pastor To Hold Revival Services
The Rev. Haywood Kube has become pastor of First Baptist Church and preached his first sermon last Sunday. He and his wife with two children moved from Crandall where he led Central Baptist Church and will study at Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth. A revival is set to begin Sunday March 14 and run through the next Sunday with services at 6 am and 7 pm daily. Public attendance invited. Visitors included Mrs. Ida Witt and families from Gordon and Strawn communities.

J M McCroskey the district superintendent reports thirteen students enrolled for a 42 hour driver education course at Stephenville High School. Charles Kitchens will lead two hour sessions Monday Wednesday and Friday afternoons with 30 hours classroom six hours observation and six hours highway driving. The program aims to teach proper driving and attitudes with licenses available to fourteen year olds upon completion and the total cost set at eighty dollars.

Sheriff Speck Strawn reports 30 batteries stolen in recent burglaries were recovered Thursday at a Cleburne salvage yard. Twenty eight came from the White Auto Store and two from Gordon Whitworth's property in the White Church Community. No charges had been filed as of press time.
