Members formed a incorporation committee and a historical sights panel while approving county signs and a county history talk. Faulty Steering Blamed for City Wreck

Grandson of local couple recovering in Abilene
Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Cooper visited Abilene over the weekend to be at the bedside of their two month old grandson Monte Cooper son of Lt. Bud Cooper and his wife. Monte, hospitalized at Hendrick Memorial Hospital with pneumonia, is reported to be recovering as Lt. Cooper, stationed in Chicago, traveled there and back by plane.

Somervell Junior Livestock Show Plans Final Meeting
Bill Pruitt, president of the Somervell County Livestock Association, said Wednesday the group will hold a final planning session for the Ninth Annual Junior Livestock and Quarter Horse Show to be staged Friday and Saturday, March 12-13. A new Open Bull Show feature will select the top beef herd size, with entries expected from Herefords, Aberdeen-Angus, Charolais, Santa Gertrudis and Shorthorn bulls.

MOD Banquet Planned to Aid March of Dimes
Plans are complete for the March of Dimes banquet on March 4 at 7 PM at Glen Lake Methodist Camp. DeCordova Bend Reservoir plans may move Brazos River Authority projects closer to construction. Boger says modified plan removes hydroelectric units saving six to seven million dollars, keeping dam location and capacity but reducing overall cost to about 14 million dollars. Financing relies on water sales to Texas Power & Light and Texas Electric Service. Construction could start in 10 to 12 months with careful land acquisition and permits.
