Buck Bridewell Home Destroyed By Fire
A thunderstorm thunderbolt struck the Buck Bridewell home eight miles southwest of Glen Rose. The blaze started about 3 30 in the afternoon and burned the house to the ground before Glen Rose firefighters could contain it as the Bridewells were away at work in Fort Worth with two children safely elsewhere.

All special Post Office services will see higher charges starting July 1. Rates for money orders, registration, parcel post insurance, certified mail, return receipts, special delivery, and special handling increase, while letters, papers, and parcel post remain unchanged. Certified mail rises to 20c, return receipts to 10c, and special delivery to 30c.

Mary Sullivan 74 died after months of illness at El Rancho Rest Home. A Somervell County resident born Rock Creek January 4 1883 she married Nede Sullivan December 1 1898 and had eleven children. Surviving sons and daughters include William Richard Fort Worth John L Fort Worth Van Lodi Weldon Granbury Rip Glen Rose Virginia Salt Lake City Flossie Fort Worth. 15 grandchildren 9 great grandchildren 1 brother John Wheatley Haske l 4 sisters. She was a longtime Baptist member of First Baptist Church. Services Monday at 2 pm conducted by Rev Joe English and Rev Lee Porter with songs The Old Rugged Cross and In The Garden. Pallbearers Vance Wiggins Robert Dotson G Tillman Doyle Aston G C Gibbs L A Irvine. Interment White Church cemetery.
