Registration for Pre School will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Glen Rose Primary School building. Classes run Tuesday to Friday 9 to 11 a.m. through mid summer under Title I with teachers Mrs William Earl Mimms and Mrs Roy Lee Ice.
The Dino Club of Somervell County will meet Wednesday at 10 00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Mrs David Brown county home demonstration agent urged attendees to bring a covered dish. The luncheon is open to anyone wishing to attend.
Charles W. Gibbs the high school principal here was elected president of the Somervell County unit of the Texas State Teachers Assn for the 1973 74 school year. Lloyd Wirt W B Cowan Mrs Danny Butler and Mrs Roy Lee Ice were named first vice president second vice president secretary and treasurer respectively.
Revival services begin Sunday at Hill City Baptist Church and continue through next Sunday. Services run at 7 15 p m daily with Rev. Brian Williams as evangelist and Mrs Sue Whitehead as pianist.
Mr and Mrs A P Johnny Johnson return home after a 3600 mile auto tour through the South and East. They visited Washington DC Atlantic City and other points of interest and report no difficulties including fueling and oil.
W B Cowan attended a grading cattle short course Wednesday through Friday at Texas A M University College Station. Mrs Henry Nickell spent Wednesday night in Fort Worth with her son Wayne and family and attended graduation exercises at Will Rogers Coliseum to see grandson Barry receive his diploma from Western Hills High School.
Somervell County Commissioners' Court operates as a County Board of Equalization to set a minimum land value at 20 per cent of actual value. In Glen Rose the minimum is $100 per acre, with tax rates not exceeding 1.90 per cent or $100 value. The measure doubles taxable land value for many acres but remains below city land values, as much land in the county ranges from $250 to $400 per acre.
Mr. and Mrs. M. G. McConal returned home Saturday from El Paso where Mrs. McConal had been hospitalized after major surgery. The couple, who were vacationing in Arizona, faced a family medical emergency as Patty fell ill in Lordsburg and later in El Paso before surgery. Their son M. G. McConal Jr. of Cross Plains drove them home.
Little League baseball opens this evening at 7 p.m. with Team No 1 facing Team No 2 in the first game. A Pony League nightcap features Team No 2 against Team No 3 as local residents are urged to attend and support this year's baseball and girls softball programs.
Diana Dove will be president with Daylene Brown as vice president and Cindy Youngblood as secretary. Senior cheerleaders include Dana Pruitt Kay Gibson Judy Flanary and Dana S senior with Janis Lemens as sophomore.
The Glen Rose Horse Show and Rodeo Association will hold a meeting in the Yo-Ag Room at the high school Monday at 8 p.m. President Jack Bridges Jr. urges all members and interested persons to attend.
Rain totaled 7.31 inches since Friday and sent the Paluxy River and area creeks flooding. City drainage struggled as 3.21 inches fell on Tuesday, lifting year to date moisture to 22.31 inches. May rainfall reached 2.22 inches, with damage to roads and fences reported.
Vickie Baker and Carla Massingill will represent Somervell County in District VIII 4 H Dress Revue at Tarleton State College Stephenville on July 25. Blue ribbon seniors include Massingill and Peggy Oldham while junior blue ribbons include Baker and others. Michele Locke topped the county pre junior division.
City council in regular session voted to rescind local beer and wine hours and adopt state law hours for off premise sales. Weekdays 7 am to midnight, Saturday 7 am to 1 am, Sunday noon to midnight. Ivy opposed Sunday opening. Williams absent. Talley out of town.

J. P. Harris of Fort Worth awarded a contract to demolish the junior high school building. Bid price is $1,800 with 45 days to complete salvage and site clearance. School board president Paul Hancock Jr. cites expected bids for the new elementary school within two weeks.

Rev and Mrs Jack Mills and their children relocate to Bedford where he becomes pastor of a Baptist Church. He previously managed the Tarrant Baptist Encampment in the Rock Creek area for about four years.
Ten seniors received scholarships with eight awards of 50 dollars and two 250 dollar grants. The two 250 dollar Crump Memorial Scholarships honor Harry C Crump Jr and Walter Pershing Crump and are funded annually by Mr. and Mrs. George R Crump. First recipients are Harold Parnell and Mark Flanary. Additional 50 dollar awards include Zenda Cummings via Beta Sigma Phi Omega Psi Chapter and church grants from First United Methodist and First Baptist Church to multiple students.

Sheriff Frank Laramore says four traffic accidents occurred since last Thursday. Arthur Woodruff of Dublin skidded on a 1967 Thunderbird on Highway 67 causing minor injuries and total loss. Mrs. Green and Dennis Jones had a minor collision near the high school gym with no injuries. Sam Orr and Nancy Baker collided on Highway 67 near Paluxy with heavy damage but no injuries. John Sutter lost control on a wet road turning from Highway 67 to 144, hitting an embankment and sustaining damage.
