Thirteen Glen Rose Future Farmers of America members will travel to the State FFA Convention in Fort Worth July 18 to 29 led by Ronnie Shackelford. Delegates include Lloyd Wirt Jr and Roger Armstrong with Gary Westmoreland among ten state officer candidates. A special delegation and former FFA Sweethearts will attend the July 20 session with Kelly Lewellen head of the group.

Coach Clary Resigns for Galena Park Post
Coach Oran Clary submitted his resignation to the Glen Rose School Board this week and will join Galena Park High School near Houston as a coach. He came to Glen Rose from Joshua in 1956 and led football, boys basketball, track, and physical education. Paul B. Schuelke was elected head coach of Glen Rose Schools Tuesday night.

U S 67 Widening Complete From Rainbow to County Line
The Texas Highway Department finished retoping and widening U S 67 from Rainbow to the Johnson County line. The state accepted the project from contractor John Buckner last Monday. Somervell County portion is designated a first class highway with climbing lanes to ease passing slow traffic. The project cost 1,465,000 dollars.

Paluxy Bridge Bids Planned for September
Bids on the Paluxy Bridge on State Highway 144 are expected to be let in September. The bridge will remain in place with construction on the north lane first while traffic uses the old bridge. Widening of the Squaw Creek bridge on State 144 is anticipated to be bid at the same time.
