Despite a blistering heat wave the annual July Fourth Round-Up Days in Glen Rose drew record crowds June 3 to 5. Chamber of Commerce sponsors reported top attendance at Little League games street dance and the Old Fiddlers Contest with winners named including Champion Fiddler Bill Gilbert Fort Worth and top age divisions. The downtown show featured parades and pet contests with many local 4-H and Future Farmers of America participants taking blue ribbons.

Red Cross Swim Lessons Set For July At Oakdale Park

Officers of the Glen Rose Industrial Foundation reported final plans for a proposed hospital have been completed and sent to the State Health Department in Austin. After state sanction, the proposal will go to the Small Business Administration in Dallas for final approval before construction. The project will cost about 350000 dollars and be leased to Dr. Roger Marks and Dr. R. D. English on a 25 year lease purchase plan after completion.
