One Accident Reported During County Holiday Weekend
Sheriff C. M. Speck Strawn said only one accident was investigated over the long holiday weekend. At Reeves Grocery intersection in the east part of town on Saturday night about 11:30 a 1958 Chevrolet driven by Mrs. Maxine Sanders of Fort Worth collided with a 1956 Ford driven by Warren Underwood of this city. No injuries were reported and vehicle damage was about 300 dollars.

Frozen County Funds Released Wednesday
Frozen Somervell County tax funds totalling 15984.17 were released by the First National Bank on order of the County Commissioners after Paul Bone signed a release. Funds were moved to the county treasurer for distribution to four precincts and the maintenance fund. Judge Summers noted 408.79 was set aside in a special account to cover alleged shortages in school and state funds until the matter is settled. Hazel Adcock resigned from Glen Rose Junior High to teach in Mineral Wells. no replacement named. Bone faces seven indictments for misapplication of public funds and will stand trial in Meridian on July 20 after a prior hung jury in June.

The Rev John Wheat pastor of the First Baptist Church in Glen Rose fractured two bones in his left foot at Camp Arrowhead during a Baptist Youth Camp last Monday. He is up and about and recovering satisfactorily.

Eulogy Homecoming Set for July 19 at Local School

Ray Orr Released From Fort Worth Hospital
Ray Orr of Euless was released from St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth after several days of treatment and a clinical check up. He is reported to be suffering from an ulcerated stomach. Dismukes Burial Held at Squaw Creek Cemetery
Mrs Zula Belvy Dismukes of San Antonio died June 30 and was laid to rest July 2 beside her husband Howard R Dismukes in Squaw Creek Cemetery. Services were conducted by ministers from local churches with M L Daniel and J L Roberts officiating. Born Glen Rose November 26 1901 she married May 23 1934. Survivors include two brothers a sister and many nieces and nephews. Glen Rose Funeral Home arranged. numerous out of town visitors attended.

Methodist Church Remodeling Contract Awarded
Rev Bruce Baker announced the First Methodist Church board awarded the remodeling contract to W C Williams Construction of Fort Worth. Work began Monday with completion set for November 1. Services will be held in the Fellowship Hall during construction and the interior will be redesigned with new furnishings including upholstered pews at a total cost of 25000 dollars.
