Wreck on Highway 144 Injures Three Near Somervell Line
Three people from Weatherford were hospitalized after their car left Walnut Springs highway 144 and hit a fence around 10 p.m. The victims, Mr and Mrs Spain and her sister, were taken to the local hospital with non serious injuries. Bosque County near the Somervell county line. Highway Patrolman James Wright investigated.

Land Bank Cuts Interest on New Loans in Texas
The Federal Land Bank of Houston board approved a 0.5 percent rate reduction on new loans starting January 1 1961 and a further 0.5 percent cut on about 24 million dollars of existing loans. The Houston bank notes it has 235 million in loans nationwide and serves 78 associations in Texas. Local loans are handled by the Cleburne association covering Johnson, Tarrant, Hood, Somervell and Dallas Counties, with 450 loans totaling about 2.22 million dollars managed by Charles L. Hearn and staff.
