Mattie Ellen Presley 78 died at home Thursday December 20 after a long illness. Services were at Glen Rose Funeral Home chapel officiated by C. A. Buchanan. Born Town March 26, 1878 she was survived by her husband three daughters and many relatives. Burial followed at Ward cemetery near Corsicana with grandsons as pallbearers.

57 Model Gets Deer Load Test
Game Warden Adolph Heep of Fredericksburg intercepted a 1957 model car with five slain undressed deer in its trunk. The two San Antonio men, halted after a night of shooting on the Fredericksburg highway, faced charges for exceeding deer limits and possessing untagged deer. One hunter remained to dress the deer while the other traveled to San Antonio for about 8859 in fines and costs.
