Cecil Ted Fretwell who fell in Korea on July 11, 1950 near Taejon is being brought home for burial. His funeral is set for Monday April 25 1955 at 2 00 pm at Nancy Smith Cemetery Somervell County with full military honors. He was born August 19 1929 in Somervell County Texas and served as Private First Class in Company K 21st Infantry. The Brister Funeral Home handles arrangements.

The Texas Highway Department dedicated Woodard Memorial Park four miles from Glen Rose on Highway 144. Designed by Bill Woodard and Walter Allen, the park seats about 50, covers .85 acre, with three picnic units and multiple amenities. Donated by W. C. Woodard and Velma O'Neal Woodard in memory of their son T. H. Woodard who died at age 13 on February 4, 1935.

Fifty five members attended the monthly Chamber of Commerce luncheon at Glen Lake Camp last Tuesday. President Walter Ernst presided and outlined a Glen Rose and Somervell County handbook to include city and county information with no advertising. The book is to feature pictures and data from contributors, with Pete Hatler in charge. retiring president Jack W. Bridges and Mayor Temple Summers were honored. Secretary Bill Thomas resigned. Frances Rives elected to replace him.

Funeral Held for Arthur Jackson English in Trent
The funeral for 83 year old Arthur Jackson English of Trent was attended by brothers Luther and Bunyon English. Born in Mississippi he had lived in Fannin and Nolan counties before moving to Trent. He died Saturday in Sadler Hospital Merkel. Survived by his wife two sons five daughters three brothers Claude Bonham Jessie Dallas Robert Brownwood two sisters and many grandchildren.
