Longview Crowns Miss Gregg County Lola Page
Lola Page of Pine Tree High School was crowned Miss Gregg County at the fairgrounds Longview after judging Monday night. First runner up Peggy McDonald Sabine High School and second runner up Cindy Jamison Kilgore High School. Other contestants included Margaret Jobe Gladewater Betty Duke Longview Cathie Baker White Oak and Vickie Hagler Spring Hill. Contestants rode in a parade at 430 pm and were entertained at dinner with judges prior to the 8 pm contest. Gladewater High School band joined the parade.

Big Sandy CES No. 865 hosts a barbecued dinner Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the community building with public invited. On September 25 a garden club reassembly tea begins at 1 30 p.m. at 200 Maple the home of Mrs Clyde Crawford with co hosts Mesdames A B Nelson Jess Turner and Leroy Wilson.
