Drowning Risk Peaks for Teens in Texas Study
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department findings show youths 16 to 20 suffer the highest drowning risk from Sept 1970 to Aug 1971. The 0-5 group follows. Drownings rise in spring and summer, with September reporting more deaths than August and larger counties recording more incidents. The Water Safety Education Section notes 350 drownings in early 1972.
