Gladewater Board Approves Air Conditioning for Schools
The Gladewater school board voted to air condition all elementary classrooms with 24 000 BTU window units. Superintendent Roy Johnson is authorized to begin installation and has surveyed unit needs for Gay Avenue Broadway and Middle School. The Church of the Nazarene welcomes Rev. Harold L. At a Tuesday banquet in the St. Clair Restaurant the Gladewater Kiwanis Club installed Stanley Midler as president for 1972 73 with Johnny Dishman and Frank Pence as vice presidents and Bob Ullrish as secretary treasurer. New directors include Dub Floyd Ron Clark George Kendall Roscoe Stevens Chuck Reed Bernard Levy and Jack Hart. Incoming Lt Gov Ira Peterson spoke and Longview Kiwanis leaders received thanks for support during the club's first year.

Gladewater Chamber Honors School Staff At Tea Event
The Gladewater Chamber of Commerce hosted a Monday afternoon tea and reception at the Chamber offices on North Main Street honoring Gladewater and Union Grove school personnel. More than 100 guests attended, greeted by chamber officers and signed the guest book led by Mrs. Raymond Allen. Members of the women s division assisted with punch service and decorations while photos featured Union Grove and Gladewater staff and officers.
