Roy Hammer Library Dedicated at Ambassador College

The Roy Hammer Library was dedicated Tuesday at Ambassador College. Herbert W. Armstrong presided, with Garner Ted Armstrong as master of ceremonies. The library honors donor Roy Hammer, father-in-law of Armstrong, with the Hammer family attending including Mrs. Pearl Hammer.

Hallsville Centurion Centennial Plans On October 24 25

Hallsville outlines a two day Centennial celebration chaired by W R Parks er with Lt Gov Barnes headlining the events on October 25. A parade and barbecue follow the speaker and a tea will be held at the old Whisenhunt home. Activities include a dress and beard contest and a trophy horse show. Tickets for a 7 30 p m play Hallsville 100 Years Ago go on sale with various civic clubs fielding Centennial queens.

Former Gladeite Manager Named Bowie Chamber of Commerce Head

W A Bill Brewer, former Gladewater resident now in Bowie, named temporary manager of the Bowie Chamber of Commerce by the Executive Committee to replace the injured Fred Bloom. Brewer, retired production foreman for General American Oil Company of Texas, served 31 years with the company and has lived in Bowie 20 years with wife Ann and daughter Mrs Charles Martin of Houston.
