Faulder Found Guilty of Capital Murder in 1975 Slaying
Joseph Stanley Faulder, 40, was found guilty of capital murder for the July 8, 1975 death of Mrs. Inez Phillips. An eight to four jury deliberated 90 minutes before delivering the verdict. jurors were polled and affirmed it. The trial recessed to resume Thursday to set punishment.

Funeral services held for Mrs Vesta Hawkins 61
Funeral services for Mrs Vesta Hawkins 61 were conducted Monday at 3 in Malcolm Stone Funeral Chapel with Hays Reneau officiating. Interment followed at Rosedale Cemetery. Mrs Hawkins of 1103 Mary Drive died Sunday at 2 10 a m in a local hospital after an extended illness. A Gladewater resident from Gregg county she was a housewife and member of the North Main and Gay Church of Christ. Survivors include one son Ted Hawkins two daughters Frances Peale Bay City and Jeanette Sharp Bay City five siblings and eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Moore James Mahon Cleo Marlowe Speedy Markham D L Morgan Dr Harold McDowell and Dewey Gray.
