Parron Church Plans All Day Sunday Services

All day services are set for Sunday at Parron Church between Hawkins and Shady Grove with special singers invited. Memorial events begin at 10 30 a m and attendees are urged to join.

UF Division Heads Named for 1971 72 United Fund Drive

Division heads for the 1971 72 United Fund drive have been announced with kickoff at the St Clair Restaurant on Friday October 22. Ballots include divisions led by Jack Finley Hugh Mixon Marilyn Godfrey Roy Johnson Bill Wagner the Rev Conrad Winborn Jr Tim Bland John Paul Tallent and Mrs Garfield Hill. The Three Arts Club pledged in Civic and Social, R&K Distributors funded in Mailing, and Mrs Margaret Jenkins led Ministerial with an initial pledge. Major area groups and agencies listed include Youth Baseball Gladewater Benevolent Fund YMCA Salvation Army Red Cross and more with emphasis on donor designations.

Gladewater School Board Reviews New Freshman Math Program

Gladewater School Board heard Frank Setzler describe an individualized math program for freshmen at the October meeting. The board approved prior minutes and Arlan Woods tax collection report, noting 93.87 percent of 1971 taxes collected and bills for September. A bid decision was set to purchase three school cars with two station wagons and one sedan, bids to open November 8 at 7 p.m.
