The Worldwide Church of God festival at Ambassador College in Big Sandy drew about 9 500 registrants with over 6 000 camping near the Festival Center. The event spans 11 U S sites and five Canadian sites in a 50 site world network with more than 100 000 expected attendees.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church for Charles F Wellborn 86 of Gladewater with burial in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery Henderson. He died Oct 7 after a brief illness. Survived by widow Ethels Sandra Wellborn a son and three daughters and several siblings and six grandchildren. Pallbearers and deacons served.
