A first downtown pep rally for the Gladewater Bears is planned for Thursday at 6 p.m. in front of the First State Bank on Pacific Street. The event invites all residents and local groups to celebrate the 1969 District 14-AA champions and support the team before the bi district game against DeKalb Friday night at Lobo Stadium.

Robert M. Moss Dies at 59 in Gladewater Rites Held
Robert Malcolm Moss 59 of Gladewater died Tuesday at a local hospital from a heart attack. Funeral services were Thursday at Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Elmer Kelley presiding. Burial followed at Gladewater Memorial Park. Moss, a WW II veteran and former Carrier Corp. security guard, lived at 1207 Edwards and is survived by his wife Estell, two sons Glen Allen Max, two daughters Genell Moore Clara Meadows, a brother Woodrow Moss, three sisters Katherine Monk Lessie Harris Nally Larue, and two grandchildren. Born March 18 1910 in Cuero Texas he moved to Gladewater from Big Sandy.

Mrs. Ruby Estelle Duck, 84, longtime Gladewater resident, died Sunday after a prolonged illness. Services conducted Tuesday at Mims Chapel Methodist Church in Avinger with Rev. Irby D. Bates and Rev.
