Mrs Barthene Gladys Nichols of 114 Jeannette Street was hit about 8 50 p m in the 500 block of East Broadway while crossing Highway 80. She was taken to Municipal Hospital with undetermined injuries not believed to be serious. The driver was R T Smith of 413 South Mill Street. no citation issued. Investigation ongoing.

Funeral services for 82 year old Mrs. Lorena Mackey will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Herman Reagh officiating. Burial follows at West Mt. Cemetery. She is survived by a daughter Laura Beth Ledbetter and three sons Seaman Mackey Ray Mackey and Glenn Mackey plus a brother Roy Andrews nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
