UG Union Grove votes to elect local officials amid lawsuit
In the newly incorporated UG Union Grove community Tuesday voters chose a mayor and five councilmen plus a town marshal. All offices had no opposition except write-in Jay Pepper with 11 votes for marshal. George Smith had 5 votes for mayor. Councilmen results: Huffman 42, R Smith 41, Cummins 42, Harrison 42, Boshear 41. Ullrith elected marshal with 34 votes. The incorporation suit filed last August in the 115th District Court remains pending.

FAA approves city airport dirt work on 3400 foot runway
City Manager Tony N. Williams announced FAA inspectors from Fort Worth reviewed the completed dirt work on the 3400 foot runway and gave approval.
