Three youths charged in May burglary at Cleo's Restaurant
Police Chief Jimmy Davis announced that Keith Davis 17 Robin Newman 17 and a 15 year old boy all city residents are charged with the May 18 burglary of Cleo's Restaurant Entry was gained through a rear door and an undisclosed amount of money was taken The 17 year olds bond set at 1000 each and they were sent to Gregg County officials for action The 15 year old is with juvenile authorities Also noted is the Gladewater Roundup Rodeo Association opening Monday with Beth Graham as secretary and rodeo set for June 8 in its 40th year The report also lists the deaths of three former rodeo world champions Jim Eskew Buck Sorrels Benny Combs with brief bios

Ambassador College closes Big Sandy campus and consolidates in Pasadena
Ambassador College listeners heard that the Big Sandy site in Upshur County will close and be absorbed into Ambassador College in Pasadena, California. About 150 workers are affected with 30 remaining. the campus will be maintained and its grounds kept ready for future use. The move expands the YOU program and aims to reuse facilities for a larger student base, while budgeting is trimmed from 3.6 million to 1.3 million for next year.

Paul Bennett, acting administrator for GMH, was appointed to the post in a called board session. He has 16 years with GMH, led lab and X ray, and previously served as administrative assistant under Milton Borgiano.
