East Texas Revue date set with family fun night
The 21st annual East Texas Revue, a musical gala sponsored by the American Legion and created by Ken Bennett, is set for 8 p.m. at Gladewater High School auditorium on Friday March 21. Featured acts include Gladewater and Kilgore College performers with 30 numbers and a style show. Tickets go on sale Thursday at Jobe Drug and at the door.

Proposed Middle School Program Of Studies For 1969 Gladewater
Gladewater Independent School District approves a 1969 middle school program. Grade six covers English Reading Spelling Mathematics Social Studies Writing and science with health and safety, plus art vocal and instrumental music. Grade seven includes core subjects with electives in art chair band metal drawing or independent study. Grade eight adds typing speech and independent study as electives. Modified curriculum includes coordinated vocational academ ic education and student participation in stage productions and subject clubs encouraged at grade eight. Scholastic citizenship and service awards should be encouraged.
Precious Gems pageant theme selected for Gladewater
John Paul Tallent, general chairman of the Jaycee sponsored Miss Gladewater pageant, announced the theme Precious Gems for the 10th annual event. The pageant will be June 6 in the Gladewater High School auditorium with Donna Russell crowned as Miss Gladewater. Tallent promises the show will be the most ambitious yet with a future look in stage settings, music, and costumes. Tickets are available through any Jaycee.

Choir Members Score Well At Contest
Gladewater High School choir members performed well at the East Texas State University contest in Commerce last Saturday. Mary Jane Wiley Wins First In State For Latin Costume
Gladewater freshman Mary Jane Wiley won first place in the girls costume contest at the Texas State Junior Classical League Convention in Port Arthur on March 7 and 8. Her Roman bride outfit cost 10.64 of a 15 limit, with sister notes on design and accessories. Wiley serves as chapter president and holds multiple school offices and activities.
