Longview Texas public school officials unveil a modern 270000 square foot campus on a 64 acre site near Loop 281 and US 259. The complex features an all-weather eight-lane track stadium for 9500 seats plus future expansion, a sunken football field with controlled access, a central instructional building, and a climate controlled learning center. Georgia Winn 49 died Thursday morning in Good Shepherd Hospital Longview after a long illness. Funeral services were held Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev Leon Grissom and Glen Faison officiating. Burial followed at Gladewater Memorial Park. She was born in Seagraves Texas and lived in Gladewater area 45 years. Surviving are her mother Mrs C B Winn two sisters and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers listed.

Bicentennial celebration details include a pancake breakfast at Gladewater Municipal Airport from 8 to 9:30 and 10:30 to noon, airplane rides for $3, a model plane show, stunt flying, a downtown parade at 10, Lake Gladewater events from 5, boat parade at 6, a Kiwanis beard contest at 7, and a fireworks display at 9. Fundraising totals show $595 raised toward a $1200 fireworks cost, with donations still welcome via the Chamber of Commerce or local offices.
