Kilgore man disputes Gladewater police account of Upshur County incident
Four people were arrested after a Tuesday 8:30 p.m. disturbance on US 271 north of Gladewater in Upshur County. James Calvin Smith of Kilgore says the police version differs from the published account and states three arrestees did not barricade themselves but went inside to summon a lawyer and the FBI. Mrs Hudgins and Mrs Smith were charged with hindering apprehension and resisting arrest. Smith faced hindering arrest charges.
