Gladewater Lions Install New Officers at Club Meeting
Governor-elect C F Kuykendall installed the Gladewater Lions Club officers at the Chamber of Commerce building. Johnny Strong was named president with Mike Ellis, Charles Hopson, Archa Branum and Ken Bennett as vice presidents and Tail Twister Laverne Rudolph. Directors include George Thomas David Holcombe Phillip Knight Ray Cumbie. Clyde Crawford chairs Crippled Children's Camp and Billy Sorrells is program chairman. Outgoing president John Tallent urged shared rodeo concession duties. Kuykendall, long-time Pine Tree ISD administrator and former principal, spoke briefly and noted 21 years in the Pine Tree system.

Thousands ready for 40th Roundup Rodeo event
