No Progress In Murder Probe Of Longview Girl
Gregg County authorities reported no progress Wednesday in their investigation of the Friday night murder of Longview High School senior Lesley Diane Koon 17. Her body was found by her grandfather Leroy Sparks near his home on the Sparks lease off Hamby Road. She was strangled with an electric cord and shot in the left temple. The interior showed signs of a struggle and she had been attacked. A $1,000 reward was offered by an anonymous donor for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer.

Clarence Moore Rites Held In Gladewater
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday for Clarence Charles Moore 69 of 201 Gregg Street a retired carpenter who died Monday after a lengthy illness in a local hospital. Rev Irby Bates conducted the service at Stone Funeral Home Chapel and burial was in Rosedale Cemetery. Born December 10 1899 in Panola County he had lived in Gladewater since 1922. Survivors include two daughters Mrs Jimmy Joe Knight and Mrs Jane O Preska three sons Clarence Jr Ray and James Allen two sisters Mrs Mae Phillips and Mrs Olvie Graves one brother Marvin Moore Pallbearers were Billy H Green Hugh Smith James Cockerell Johnny Idell and John O Preska Jr.
