Rotary club members heard details of Gregg County Plan A for the four district cooperative program Gladewater Spring Hill White Oak and Sabine The plan supports 75 speech therapy cases and 16 teachers with 5 aides for a total funding between 300000 and 400000 dollars The program targets mentally retarded and other handicapped children ages three to twenty one and operates with Sabine as fiscal agent while Gladewater provides 178 students in the program

The Episcopal Church of Gladewater sponsors a 35 hour nurses aide course at St Mark's Parish Hall. Classes start Tuesday Mar 2 from 12 30 to 2 30 pm and 3 30 to 5 30 pm, then every Tuesday and Thursday. Course is free, with Texas Nursing Home Association providing materials and a certificate on completion. Public Hearings Planned on Health Resources Council

Belser rites set Monday
Wayne Belser 79 died Friday evening at Gladewater Municipal Hospital after a long illness. Graveside services Monday March 1 at 10 a.m. at Lakeview Memorial Gardens near White Oak with Rev. B F Risinger officiating. He was a Fox Oklahoma native who moved to Gladewater six years ago. He lived at Oak Manor Nursing Home. Survivors include daughter Edith Coach of Gladewater and son Bill Belser of Gladewater.
