May reunion seeks volunteers for Gladewater Weldon classes
Mrs Mildred Bowden requests volunteers for a two day May reunion of all graduates from Gladewater and Weldon High Schools. The event May 29 30 Memorial Day weekend includes a Saturday dance and Sunday picnic at Jaycee Park near the city lake. Volunteer help will enable contact with all graduates and help defray expenses.

Death of Harry Daniel Jr prompts funeral in Gladewater
Harry Lee Daniel Jr a longtime Gladewater electrician died Friday morning after a heart attack and was pronounced dead at Gladewater Municipal Hospital. Funeral services are set for Monday at the Malcolm Stone Chapel with burial in Gladewater Memorial Park. He lived on Gay Avenue for 43 years and is survived by his widow Betty a son Rev Jerry Daniel Shelburne Vt and two daughters Caroline Hudgins Galmer and Vickie Breed Jacksonville NC among others. Pallbearers are listed with alternates provided. The obituary notes his World War II and Korean conflict service and lists siblings and five grandchildren.

Housing office to hold session on home loan programs
Ms. Gaylon Lee newly appointed city housing coordinator will host a session at the Ellen Bauman Senior Citizens Center on Wednesday February 11 at 2 p.m. to explain FHA FMHA and VA loan programs and recruit skilled retirees for small repair work.
