Kilgore College Receives Crim Home for Nursing School
On February 2 Kilgore College gained ownership of the J Malcolm Crim home on Henderson Boulevard as a gift from Mrs Crim widow of the late J Malcolm Crim first Kilgore mayor and East Texas booster. The deed was presented to Dr Randolph Watson college president. The residence will house the growing nursing department to be named the J Malcolm and Kati Mar Crim School of Nursing of Kilgore College.

Mayor H F E sl Bingham presided at the groundbreaking for White Oak State Bank at the northeast corner of Old Highway 0 east and White Oak. Builder Jimmie Muckleroy will construct a 3550 square foot ultra modern bank on a 145 by 170 foot site with completion in about 90 days. Opening is tentatively May 15 with initial capitalization of 400000 as stockholders celebrate the first bank in the community.

Schools Set Dates For Teachers In Service Days
Gladewater Superintendent Roy Johnson announced early dismissal on select Wednesdays for spring in service. Gay Avenue residents will leave at 1 30 p m while other students depart at 2 00 p m buses will run promptly. Early dismissals occur February 9 23 March 8 22 April 5 19 and May 3 17 with the first this Wednesday.
