White Oak council approves federal grant for sewer repairs
The White Oak city council in a special session authorized the city manager to apply for 65,420 in federal funds to locate and repair leaks in the sanitary sewer system based on Hart Engineering's December 18 water infiltration report. The meeting also approved a zoning change from C-1 to J-2 for three Rodeo Street lots, enabling John Paul Tallent to build two six unit apartment buildings and a 50 foot dead end street. OB GYN Doctor to Open Gladewater Offices
Dr Nasser Vatankhahi M D an OB GYN will arrive with his family in Gladewater in February to set up practice in new offices. He is the third of four physicians arriving under a Municipal Hospital recruitment program. He is licensed in New York since 1973 with New Jersey reciprocity and has held staff privileges at New Jersey hospitals. He and his wife Kobra have four sons and spent fall 1975 in East Texas selecting a home near Lake Gladewater.

Treasure Bible Game created in ET area by Cherie Hopkins
Jeanne Gillian of Ambassador College in Big Sandy built a self made Bible based game with 300000 plastic animals. The game borrows Monopoly style moves and can be played by ages four to 104 with questions for points. Local producers, printers and suppliers across East Texas supported the project. The game sold locally in Tyler Gladewater and White Oak while mail orders are fulfilled from the Gillian home.
