City Manager Tony N Williams said the West Lake Drive paving is in the home stretch with completion expected by December 28 or 29 weather permitting. The five mile project began after a sealing coat and cost $96,000, the first city-owned Lake Gladewater paving program approved in October.

E. B. Lee dies. rites held in Gladewater church
Earl B. Lee Sr., 80, longtime Gladewater resident, died Monday in a local hospital after illness. Funeral held Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. B F Risinger Jr officiating. Burial in Rock Springs Cemetery. Survivors include wife Velma, a daughter, two sisters, a brother, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He served as a bank founder, Lee Insurance owner, and was a deacon and former city councilman.
