The city council wrapped up a busy session approving three zoning changes following a public hearing. A HI to SF-8 change on a 50 by 270 foot lot near U S Highway 80 and Moody Creek allows a mobile home. The meeting also approved a $500 request from the Gregg County Governor's Committee on the Aging and appointed a new Municipal Hospital board member while prévu briefing on city litigation in executive session.

Ambassador plans awaiting three studies on campuses
Pasadena California. Ambassador College officials say no reopening decision for the Big Sandy campus will be made until three independent studies of both campuses are finished. The Big Sandy campus closed last summer with about 600 students moving to Pasadena, which now hosts around 1300 students.

United Fund drive surpasses goal with 100 percent success
The 1977 United Fund Drive exceeded its target with pledges and contributions totaling 15,648.33, $148.33 above the 15,500 goal. Secretary Jo Wiley and UF President Marilyn Godfrey thanked contributors and noted some citizens remain to be contacted. If overage occurs, funds support all 14 agencies.
