Miss Jennie O Byerne 87 lifelong Upshur County resident died Saturday night after a lengthy illness in a local nursing home. Gladewater Industrialist Lee Spencer Dies
Lee Spencer 71, longtime Gladewater business and civic leader, died after a weeks long illness. Services were held Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with graveside Masonic rites at Gladewater Memorial Park. Spencer-Harris Machine and Tool grew from a dirt floored shop purchased in 1934. He and his wife Jessie L. had a daughter Lucille Daniel and several grandchildren. Survivors include siblings and many friends. funeral directed by Malcolm Stone Funeral Home.
