White Oak State Bank plans major expansion

White Oak State Bank, five years old, outlines tentative plans for a new 1 million dollar building on a three acre site at Old U.S. Highway 80 and White Oak Road. Land selling price cited as 60 thousand dollars. President Jim Heath notes a two to three story structure with about 90 000 square feet. No construction for at least two years. Bank assets have grown from 3 million in 1972 to 17 million today.

Cross Rites Saturday for W. P. Cross

William P. Cross 86 a Gladewater resident for 25 years died Friday in a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday at 4 p m in Lucas Hurst Chapel Hurst with Rev. William E Curry officiating. Interment Bluebonnet Hill Memorial Park Colleyville. Survivors include Grace his wife a son five daughters two brothers and two sisters 23 grandchildren 19 great grandchildren.

GMH Extends Weekend Doctor Coverage at Gladewater Hospital

Gladewater Municipal Hospital will maintain full weekend doctor coverage after a unanimous board vote at the August meeting. The three month renewal will be via written contracts, with auditors reporting ER revenue gains linked to the service. New 43 Acre Hickory Hill Estates Planned in Clarksville City

Mrs Carolyn Linder and Mrs Willie Sutton of Clarksville City announced a 43 acre subdivision to be named Hickory Hill Estates. The project will include about 72 home lots priced from 30000 to 40000, on land from the Helen Haynes Pierce estate, with immediate start and Clarksville City water and sewer service and no septic tanks.
